The Tinkermermaid

I held a small kiribian contest - whoever got the 11111 kiribian won. ~boredx2 got the kiribian, and the prize was a drawing of some kind. She chose "Mulan, Pocahontas, Alice, Megara, Tinkerbell as mermaids
if thats too much you can take a few out". I decided to do two of them - Mulan and Tinkerbell. Haven't started on Mulan yet, but this is (as I hope is obvious ) Tinkerbell.

I did the sketch without a reference picture, and didn't quite remember what she looked like. I found a few pictures online to check out - the shape of her eyes, the hair, the mouth... I fixed some things by hand, and then I fixed a few things once I'd scanned it.

Tinkerbell has always struck me as rather mean - good hearted in the end, but mean still - and playing with fish that don't quite want to be played with seemed fitting, as I wanted her to do something rather than just "stand" there.

Colored in Photoshop. I kept to her original colors - yellow/goldish and green - as closely as possible. Once I was done, I thought the dark lineart I had from the original sketch was too much, and I redid the lineart in Photoshop.
