This was all a very big test to see just how much I could do with a picture. I have been wanting to try to make a doll out of a person for a while, and last night I decided to try my hand at it.
Really, you need to look at the stock below to see the picture I started out with.
I wanted the big eyes that dolls have. A bit glassy and unseeing, 'cause dolls have no soul. I think I gave her more soul than I meant to, though. Also, the original picture looks quite angry, and I wanted that gone. The eyebrows were moved, and I tried to make her more neutural.
The skin is supposed to be flawless, and a bit shiny. The lips are pink and perfect (though I'm not completely happy with them).
I added lace, and drew in some of the hair, 'cause it looked weird with all real hair and drawn eyes.
Comments, with constructive criticism, are very welcome.
Well, let's see... I think there are three layers of perfected skin on top of the photo, I think with different layer settings and opacity. The eyes are entirely drawn, although following the original eye. I kind of squished the lower part of her face together to make the face more round and doll-ish - and then there are probably five hundred layers more of light colors, the hair, the blush on her cheeks, and so on (because I love layers). Something like that. If there's anything specific, feel free to ask me
Well, I'm kind of surprised you called it a photo manip because it looked like more of a painting, but now I see - it sounds like you maniped some and painted some. In any case, it's absolutely gorgeous my dear!
I still think it's more of a photomanip than a painting, although I suppose it could be either. But there's enough left of the old picture, so I figure it should be a photomanip

its interesting to see how you have started from a picture of a girl, and made it looks like a beautiful and interesting doll.
