I was looking for stock for something entirely different, when I found this pic: [link] and something struck me with a "I wanna do something to that picture". The wings made sure it was going to be elvish.

Of course, once I got underway, I realized that the wings had too much of the dull background (as they were partly see-through) and in the end I erased them and focused on the girl instead. I like the combo of red hair and green eyes, and I tried to focus on the eyes and perfect skin. I removed some of the color from the lips (added a layer of skin tone, set it to "color" at 82%), so that they didn't draw as much attention.

The hair is red on a layer of its own, set to "Overlay". The brush wasn't at 100% when I colored it, probably around opacity 30-50%.

The eyes are several layers with several settings - two layers of green, one "Overlay" and one "Soft light", one layer of black and one layer of white.

With liquify, I redid the jawline a little bit, and did the pointy ear. The rest is simply layers and layers of skin color.

The background is a forest pic I found on dA, by ~Spotz88, which I have then blurred as it's not supposed to draw attention.

O.O Teach me to how to make skin so flawlessly perfect! It's doll-like!

I've been wanting to learn how to do that for AGES. ^.^

You should make a tutorial? :D

The Photoshop clone stamp, spot healing brush and healing brush are all good friends, and then a couple of layers of "eyedropped" color from the original drawing, as well as layers of light set to other settings than "normal" (I think "soft light" usually gives a pretty good effect, but it was a while since I did this, so I could be wrong). Might make a tutorial at some point :) Just ask if you have any specific questions.

Browsing through your gallery now lol

This is a great cleanup job, very inspiring to me (I really want to be able to do work like this!), I really liked the colours and boldness in her direct gase. The only place I could spot that it was a photomanip was on her right shoulder, you can see a lil black shadow where the wings were. It's pretty subtle tho so it doesn't take away from the image, but it doesn't quite match the green tones of the her new surroundings. I was actually surprised when I looked at the original image in comparison to this, you kicked ass!

I tried removing those wings, but they cast shadows a bit of everywhere *sigh*
Cleanup jobs are great fun :D Although it's depressing sometimes, how easily I can manipulate the pictures to make perfect people. Looking at advertisement, I automatically go "well, they've probably done this and this and this"... and they usually have.
But thank you
